Amazon Web Services (News - Alert), Inc. (AWS) has announced the certification of SAP Business Suite Software by SAP, which will now run in production on AWS cloud. SAP (News - Alert) Business Suite Software includes SAP Customer Relationship Management (SAP CRM), SAP Supply Chain Management (SAP SCM) SAP Supplier Relationship Management (SAP SRM), SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (SAP ERP) and SAP Product Lifecycle Management (SAP PLM) applications.

SAP Business Suite applications in production can now be deployed by customers on the AWS platform, helping them gain agility and savings otherwise used on wasteful or inefficient infrastructure. The on-demand-pay-as-you-go AWS platform can now be leveraged by enterprises that run SAP Business Suite by supporting concurrent users in production without spending for the infrastructure.

The ability to run SAP applications on AWS has helped a lot of businesses in handling their workloads with greater efficiency, and they can now focus on their core.

“Enterprises continue to look for ways to innovate faster, cut costs and standardize their use of AWS across their whole IT landscape,” said Terry Wise, head of Worldwide Partner Ecosystem, AWS. “With SAP Business Suite running in production on AWS, enterprises can take advantage of the AWS pay-as-you-go model to run their applications securely, quickly and cost-effectively, paying only for the resources used,” said Terry.

SAP solutions certified for production use on AWS include SAP Business Suite, SAP Business All-in-One solutions, SAP Afaria, SAP Hana One and SAP Business Objects (News - Alert) business intelligence (BI) solutions.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) was launched in 2006 and is today a highly reliable, scalable, super- efficient, low-cost infrastructure platform in the cloud. Hundreds of thousands of government offices, enterprises and startup customer businesses in about 190 countries around the world use AWS.

The need to invest in a capital intensive infrastructure platform has been eliminated, and businesses do not need servers and other IT resources. They can instead use AWS and take advantage of its expertise and scale to deliver results quickly in a cost-effective manner.
