SAP Kicks Off SAP 360 Customer Powered by HANA

At its SAPPHIRE user conference taking place in Madrid, Spain this week, the company announced its new SAP 360 Customer solution. Powered by the company’s SAP HANA platform, the solution is expected to harness the power of in-memory computing, cloud, enterprise mobility, and collaboration to allow organizations to change the way they engage with customers beyond traditional customer relationship management (CRM).
“This is a game-changing solution that will help companies market better, sell better, service better, and truly create remarkable experiences for their customers," Bill McDermott, co-CEO at SAP, said in his keynote speech. "With SAP 360 Customer powered by SAP HANA, companies gain true 360-degree customer insight that is real time, actionable, and available anywhere."
SAP co-CEO Bill McDermott delivered his keynote via satellite link because he was unable to travel due to a family emergency.
“I am so proud to be able to launch with you, as of this morning here in Madrid, SAP 360 Customer,” said McDermott, who added that with the new product, users can now manage the total lifecycle of the customer experience.
“It’s fully integrated with the cloud, it’s totally mobile, it’s the complete package,” said McDermott.
With applications like CRM and analytics like data marts, warehouses and analytic apps running on a single database, SAP says Hana will consolidate the database layer. That's the vision, but with just one major core app now supported (with CRM now moving into beta on Hana), customers will still need a separate database(s) for all their other transactional applications, Information Week is reporting today.
