Besides the mobile apps from SAP, the company estimates that 80 percent of future mobile application development in support of SAP (News SAP will showcasing more than 100 mobile apps, the majority of which are partner-built, at SAPPHIRE NOW + SAPTechEd, being held as a co-located event in Madrid from November 8-10, 2011. The event is aimed at offering opportunities to attendees to see app demonstrations and presentations, as well as interact with mobility experts, customers and partners. The company has nominated more than 200 partner apps to participate in the campus. All partner apps selected to be showcased onsite at the event have been built on or will soon be available on Sybase Unwired Platform. The Sybase Unwired Platform enables enterprise developers to quickly build enterprise-grade mobile applications that connect business data to mobile workers on most major devices. “We are laser-focused on delivering customer-centric mobile innovation without disruption to our customers,” said Raj Nathan, executive vice president, Sybase, and corporate officer and head of Mobile Applications, SAP, in a statement. “Working hand in hand, SAP and our partners provide customers with an expanded variety of mobile apps to help them mobilize line-of-business and industry processes, thus addressing their most critical business needs and staying ahead of the competition,” Nathan added. SAP applications will be available on SAP Store. The availability allows customers to evaluate and download certified solutions from SAP and its partners, with ability to purchase planned for future availability. Recently, SAP announced the acquisition of business-to-business (B2B) integration provider and trading partner Crossgate, Germany. Crossgate solutions enable companies to integrate and network with trading partners, clients and suppliers, allowing electronic data exchange with any business partner regardless of their technical capability.
